You`ll love this book for its scientific information as much as it does for its practical applications and concrete examples. If you have an ethical puzzle or a potential professional problem, chances are the answer to this book is formulated in clear and simple language. Hot topics such as courtroom technology, email policies, and issues related to ethics and professional responsibility are also part of this comprehensive reading, making it an introduction to the first place on your shelf. In this entertaining and educational reading, Hutchinson paints a striking picture of the complexity of the law and its implications by examining eight different legal cases around the world. It brings the stories to life with rich historical and cultural details, making this legal book difficult to get out of control. These books provide guidance on the role of lawyers in divorce, adoption and custody cases. This is the first book I read when I decided to study law. It`s also the only thing I put on my personal statement when I applied to Oxford. I think this proves that it`s better to read and enjoy a small number of high-quality books than to try to brag about hundreds of things you don`t understand.

Business law books can be dense, but the following books deal with corporate law in a more digestible format. The case law covers much of the above, but tends to focus more on the different ways in which legal institutions interact with other social institutions and with different categories of citizens who are subject to their jurisdiction. Essentially, the study of law is less philosophical and less oriented towards the practice of law and more sociological and political in its content. This classic novel is written from the perspective of a Midwestern student entering Harvard Law School, where he traces his experiences – in turbulent times and through many ups and downs – until graduation. Alternately mildly comical, lush romantic, and highly satirical, the book depicts law professors, deans, and other students in all their individual eccentricity and imperfect humanity. A successful film of the same name in 1973, the novel is loved by generations of American lawyers and beyond. An edition of the fortieth anniversary was released in 2012. This book focuses on legal theory in the context of the business world. Emerson explains everything in detail, from theories of tort liability, government regulations, environmental and consumer protection laws, to contracts, product liability, and international law. It also simplifies special topics such as property, intellectual property, and white-collar crime in this interesting book. Hart`s concept of law has long been considered one of the most important works of twentieth-century philosophy of law and is the locus classicus of the modern law school known as “legal positivism.” Right-wing positivism basically says that law has no metaphysical basis, either in divine law or in human nature, and that its sole authority comes simply from its de facto status as law – that is, a set of conventional rules according to which a social group lives de facto.

A third edition of this classic book, while controversial, was published in 2012 – about 50 years after the original edition. This legal book, written by Henry Cheeseman of USC Marshall, covers both American and international business law. There is a wide range of case studies to take, including environmental and ethical business issues. This book by a respected Australian jurist pioneered the revival of the natural law approach to ethics and jurisprudence in recent decades. The tradition of natural law, which states that morality and legality are ultimately based on human nature, dates back to the ancient medieval Stoic and Scholastic moral traditions and was also the dominant form of moral philosophy from the time of the Reformation to the Enlightenment. As such, it forms the moral framework for the founding of America and its most important documents: the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. After being in limbo for about two centuries, natural law was revived at the end of the twentieth century, thanks in particular to this book and its author. A second edition was published in 2011. Even the most experienced paralegals have a nice library of instructions and reference books in their personal library, because no matter how long you`ve been in this profession, the law has a way of reminding you that you`ll never know almost everything you need to know.
